One Ocean Science Congress
United Nations Ocean Conference 3
Nice, France
2 – 13 June 2025
Research and policy experts from Marine Research Plymouth Alliance - delivering poster sessions, moderating, speaking and chairing at both the One Ocean Science Congress and the UN Ocean Conference 2025, as part of Plymouth’s contribution and commitment to Sustainable Development Goal 14: Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development
ONE OCEAN SCIENCE CONGRESS | 3-6 June 2025
The Congress is a UN special event - the scientific foundation of the Third United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC3).
It will offer a dynamic blend of plenary sessions, including opening and keynote speeches, along with parallel oral and poster presentations. To foster deeper engagement between science and society, policy and action, a series of interactive ‘townhalls’—featuring panels and roundtables—will create space for meaningful dialogue and collaboration.
UN OCEAN CONFERENCE 3 | 9-13 June 2025
The overarching theme of the Conference is “Accelerating action and mobilising all actors to conserve and sustainably use the ocean”. It aims to support further and urgent action to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable development, and identify further ways and means to support the implementation of SDG 14. The Conference will adopt an agreed declaration, which along with a list of voluntary commitments, will be referred to as “Nice Ocean Action Plan”.
Alliance colleagues will also be joined by Plymouth’s Ocean Conservation Trust (OCT).
